Metal polishing is very similar in concept to the polishing of timber. If you want a good quality finish, you need to sand the wood with coarse belts and step down to a very fine buff finish. It is then ready to paint or lacquer - exactly the same with metals.

To ensure your parts are plated to the correct customer specifications or the relevant Australian Standards, you need some way of measuring plating thicknesses. At Precision Plating, we have an X-Ray thickness testing machine which is used regularly to check coating thicknesses. This is also important to ensure we provide a consistent result that our customers can rely on.

The Electroplating process adds to the durability of parts and therefore improves their longevity. The process involves many hazadous and dangerous chemicals, which must be treated, as they cannot be just dumped down the drains. Precision Plating has invested a significant amount of money in a treatment plant to ensure these chemicals do not polute our environment. Discharge from our membrane water purification plant is well below the strict requirements of all Australian Regulations. Water usage is also kept to a minimum through the use of this technology.
